Matt Cardona has teased a championship match against Jon Moxley, following Moxley’s NJPW IWGP World Heavyweight Title win.
In a move that surprised some, Jon Moxley defeated Tetsuya Naito at NJPW Windy City Riot to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
With the AEW star now holding the most prestigious championship in NJPW, Matt Cardona has now reacted to Moxley’s title victory.
Cardona took to Instagram to share a graphic of him catching Jon Moxley Ghostbusters-style.
Believing he’s owed a title rematch, Cardona said:
@jonmoxley beat me for the @gamechangerwrestling World Title and I never got my rematch…
Now he’s @njpw1972 IWGP World Heavyweight Champion… Hmmm…… #AlwayzReady
Cardona dropped the GCW World Heavyweight Championship to Jon Moxley at the September 2021 GCW The Art Of War Games event.
The former “Zack Ryder” recently made his AEW TV return, unsuccessfully challenging for Adam Copeland’s TNT Championship on the March 30 edition of Collision.
