Kevin Magnussen is on the verge of a race ban from Formula 1 after taking his penalty point tally to 10 during the Miami Grand Prix weekend.
The Haas driver picked up five penalty points in Florida, and a combined 65s worth of time penalties on a troubled weekend.
For his on-track tactics during the sprint and crash with Logan Sargeant during the race, the stewards doubled his tally of penalty points, moving him to within just two of becoming the first F1 driver to ever be banned under the system.
His next points do not come off until March 9th, 2025.
Each penalty point remains on a driver’s licence for 12 months, with a ban being triggered when a driver reaches 12 points.
The only other penalty point issued during the Miami Grand Prix weekend was for Carlos Sainz following his late collision with Oscar Piastri.
He picked up a five-second time penalty for the collision, dropping him to fifth in the final results, as well as earning his first penalty point.
