Sir Geoffrey Boycott has been hospitalised for pneumonia following cancer surgery.
The former England cricket captain underwent surgery to remove a tumour from his throat and was discharged on Friday.
However, a statement from his family on his X account has revealed that he has returned to hospital, where he’s been fed through a feeding tube.
“Thank you all for the well wishes, we’ve been blown away by the sheer number of them!” it read.
“Unfortunately things have taken a turn for the worse and my Father has developed pneumonia and is unable to eat or drink so is back in hospital on oxygen and a feeding tube for the foreseeable.”
Boycott was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 2002 and the former batsman was treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
