Erling Haaland is on course to obliterate a Premier League record.
Not just break it – he could totally and utterly annihilate.
That’s the view of former Premier League striker with Chelsea, Tony Cascarino.
Now a co-host on talkSPORT’s Weekend Sports Breakfast, he – like many – was left in awe after witnessing another Haaland hat-trick.
His treble in Man City’s 3-1 win over West Ham showcased his ruthlessness infront of goal.

He buried two solo strikes, one by opening up the goal, and the other with a delicate clip, while his second goal of the day saw him round off an excellent passing move by larruping the ball home.
It’s now two consecutive hat-tricks after he saw off Ipswich Town with ease in their previous match.
The double treble means he now has eight Premier League hat-tricks in 69 games – the same amount as Harry Kane scored but took 320 matches to do.
The Premier League’s leading hat-trick scorer of all-time is former Man City star Sergio Aguero who hit 12 in 275 games.
But when asked if Haaland can beat it, ex-Chelsea star Cascarino think he’ll do so before the season is out.
He answered: They’ll probably get another four hat-tricks this season.
“It’s astonishing. I mean I’m looking at you and it is. Would it be that unlikely that he got another four hat-tricks? No, not at all.”
Stunned co-host Natalie Sawyer replied: “So he could do that with less than 100 games played? That doesn’t seem right at all. He is an absolute robot in some ways.
Cascarino added: “He’s everything. I mean he’s got a big smile on his face a lot of the time and you sort of think, well why wouldn’t he? Because he’s confident and that’s clear.
“If he avoids injury he’s getting 30 plus goals easily this year.”
Most hat-tricks in Premier League history
12 – Sergio Aguero (275 games)
11 – Alan Shearer (441 games)
9 – Robbie Fowler (379 games)
8 – Erling Haaland (69 games)
8 – Thierry Henry (258 games)
8 – Harry Kane (320 games)
8 – Michael Owen (326 games)
Haaland now has 70 league goals in 69 games since arriving at Man City in 2022 from Borussia Dortmund.
He took home the Golden Boot in each of his first two campaigns with 36 and 27 goals, respectively.
And now with seven in his first three games this time out, he could be on course for a famous three-peat.
Haaland’s hat-trick was also a history-maker for another reason – it means the club have had more trebles (43) than any other club since 1992, overtaking Liverpool.
But all these three-goal hauls aren’t making him as popular as you might think in the dressing room.
His keepsake from the win over Ipswich saw one player jokingly put, “I’m sick of writing [on] these matchballs.”
While after the win over West Ham, another put simply, “F*** off.”
But we know they will love writing on a few more this season – when they inevitably happen.
