An Ed Sheeran impersonator was beaten to a pulp by a Stormzy lookalike in an MMA fight on Friday night.
The bizarre contest took place on the inaugural World Freak Fight League event, headlined by a 2vs1 bout between former World’s Strongest Man winner Eddie Hall and social media influencers Jamil and Jamel Neffati – also known as The Neffati Brothers.
Ty Jones, who works as an Ed Sheeran impersonator, met Papa Sow, a Stormzy double, in the second prelim of the night.
The fight was scheduled for three, three-minute rounds but Sow only needed 25 seconds to dispatch his foe.
As they squared off in the centre of the cage it was clear there was a significant size difference.
According to the Tale of the Tape, Sow outweighed Jones by 40lbs and stood eight inches taller.
He made good use of that size advantage early as he came flying out the gates and knocked Jones to the ground with a front kick to the midsection.
Jones frantically tried to get back to his feet but Sow followed him down to the canvas as he quickly took his opponent’s back.
Sow began raining down blows on the Sheeran lookalike, who sensing there was no way out, tapped to strikes early in the opening stanza.
Jones’ face was bloodied and bruised as he made his way back to his feet but he stuck around in the cage to give props to the victor.
“He’s a beast, the guy’s a beast, he’s a Stormzy lookalike for God’s sake! You know what?” he said.
“I respect him too, it’s business and we can also be professionals. We have been tonight and I love that, there’s nothing personal.”
Sow then added: “Mate, there’s nothing but love, I love this guy and there’s so much respect between me and him.
“I’m so sorry about what happened, it’s business, but hey, he’s a good lad, I love him.”
In the main event, Hall pulled off a stunning stoppage in his handicap match.
After two rounds of tedious circling from the Neffati Brothers, they eventually got stuck in during the third and final frame.
It quickly became clear this was the wrong decision when Hall suplexed one of them to the floor while fending off the other.
As the first brother made his way back to his feet he was caught by a huge right hand from the 367lbs behemoth that knocked him out flat on his face as the referee stepped in and waved off the contest.
