Devin Haney is furious after being snubbed for a free ticket to the Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois fight night.
The former undisputed lightweight champion was planning on being ringside to see Joshua and Dubois square off at Wembley Stadium.
However, he angrily took to social media during the undercard and accused Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn of not supplying him with tickets.
“Wow I’m in London,” he wrote on X.
“Eddie Hearn won’t give me tickets to the fight but keeps mentioning me every chance he get.
“Eddie the fakest n***a I ever met bro.”
Hearn was quick to fire back: “You asked me at 6am this morning. First I look after my fighters.
“Ask someone else and drop the arrogance.”
Haney then replied with a single one-word response: “Alhamdulillah,” translating to ‘Praise be to God’.
Haney was promoted by Hearn for a stretch between 2019 to 2021 before switching to rival promoter Top Rank.
He has since chosen to go it alone as a free agent but worked partially with Hearn for his last outing against Ryan Garcia.
Hearn wasn’t officially involved in the fight but was welcomed in as an honorary team member before the contest.
Garcia was initially awarded a majority decision after flooring Haney three times.
But the result was overturned when it was found that Garcia had failed a pre-fight drug test.
At the time, Haney insisted Hearn was more of a friend than a business partner.
However, their relationship has soured in recent months.
Haney expressed frustrations in June when Matchroom didn’t make a bid for his mandatory WBC super-lightweight scrap with Sandor Martin, which drew only one bidder – his former promoter Top Rank.
“Wow Matchroom … nasty work,” Haney posted on X. “I should’ve bid myself.”
In an appearance days later on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour, Hearn explained why Matchroom didn’t make a bid.
“He’s not signed with me, he’s not looking to sign a long-term deal with a promoter,” Hearn said.
“I think he assumed we might bid, but he runs his own promotion, Devin Haney Promotions.
“They like having their logo on the poster, but they didn’t want to lose money, and that’s why they didn’t bid.”
Haney has since chosen to vacate his WBC super lightweight title and has been made a ‘champion in recess’.
