WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is a shock absentee from Carl Froch’s list of pound-for-pound great fighters.
The ‘Gypsy King’ is one of the biggest and most successful stars in the sport having picked up every heavyweight title during his silver screen-worthy career.
Fury, whose CV includes a massive upset victory over Wladimir Klitschko and back-to-back KO wins over Deontay Wilder, is regarded by many as one of the best active boxers.
However, the heavyweight superstar failed to make the six-man pound-for-pound list Froch recently revealed to OLBG.
The British boxing legend believes Fury’s rumoured next opponent, Oleksandr Usyk, is the best boxer on the planet after watching him win all the belts at cruiserweight before moving up a division and beating Anthony Joshua twice.
Usyk, who currently holds three of the four major heavyweight titles, was expected to fight Fury in April but talks collapsed, and the Ukrainian’s team accused the Englishman of making ‘disrespectful demands.’

Despite a breakdown in talks, Fury may still fight Usyk in 2023, as a heavyweight mega-event featuring the undisputed clash and Joshua vs Wilder is expected to take place in December.
Former undisputed bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue is second on Froch’s P4P list and will have the chance to improve his position in a two-belt super-bantamweight fight with Stephen Fulton on July 25.
Terence Crawford and Errol Spence take the next two spots, with ‘Bud’ seemingly being given a slight edge over his welterweight rival having previously won all four belts at 140lbs.
Light-heavyweight knockout artist Artur Beterbiev is the fifth-best fighter in boxing right now, according to Froch who is a big fan of the three-belt champion.
Gervonta Davis rounds off the six-man list following his brutal body shot KO win over long-time rival Ryan Garcia in what was arguably the biggest fight of 2023 so far.
‘Tank’ can now look forward to a potential clash with Devin Haney or Vasyl Lomachenko, who will fight for all the lightweight belts at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
