Canelo Alvarez will appear in the upcoming Creed III film, Michael B. Jordan has revealed.
Jordan, who plays main character Adonis Creed and will be directing the latest movie, posted set photos on Instagram this week which showed himself shooting with the Mexican superstar.
The images showed the pair working together in the creation of the film.
Jordan captioned them: “Directing the legend himself Canelo in Creed III.
“Can’t wait for the world to see on March 3.
“A star inside the ring and out, welcome to the family.
“Good luck this weekend.”
Canelo is due to lock horns once again with Gennady Golovkin on Saturday night.
Impressively though, he managed to take time away at some stage to shoot for Creed III.
The latest film in the Rocky franchise will carry on from its most recent adaptations, following the story of Adonis Creed – son of Rocky Balboa’s legendary opponent Apollo Creed.
In the first Creed film (2015), Adonis recruited Rocky to be his trainer.
The pair worked together to win the world title in the sequel (2018), bumping into Ivan Drago and his son Viktor along the way.
Now, with Creed as champion, the story will continue, although without Rocky’s involvement.
Creed III was initially scheduled to be released on November 23, 2022, but has since been pushed back and will now hit cinemas on March 3, 2023.
