Pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati went viral after an unfortunate accident at the Olympics – and has since been handed some sage advice.
Ammirati was competing in the men’s pole vault as he went to try clear a 5.70 metre jump.
It would have put the Frenchman within touching distance of a medal, giving him a chance of reaching the final.
However, in front of a packed out Stade de France, Ammirati’s manhood caught the pole as he vaulted over and caused him to fail.
The moment has since gone viral on social media with the 21-year-old devastated as he hit the deck, the attempt being his third and final one.
Bizarrely, Serena Williams’ former coach Rennae Stubbs has now chimed in with some potentially valuable advice for the youngster.
Writing on social media site X, the 53-year-old posted: “Seriously!!! When your sport is all about getting your body over a bar and it’s a matter of millimetres.
“My man! Call a drag queen! She’ll teach u how to tuck it! This is unbelievable!”
Stubbs certainly knows a thing or two about coaching champions.
A former world No. 1 herself in tennis doubles and winner of six Grand Slams, she has coached stars like Samantha Stosur, Genie Bouchard and Williams.
Under her tutelage, Stosur won the 2021 US Open doubles with partner Zhang Shuai and helped Bouchard fly up the WTA rankings from 330 to 120.
Stubbs went on to coach Williams during her swansong major tournament at the US Open in 2022 before the 23 Grand Slam winner retired from the sport.
Meanwhile, Ammirati was heartbroken to crash out of the Olympics and the chance to win a medal in Paris.
“I’m a bit gutted, because I didn’t miss anything on the third attempt at 5.70m,” he told the French Athletics Federation.
“What I did miss was a bit of jumping in training to fine-tune the settings. Just a technical session.
“I was 100 percent physically, but I was missing a bit of pole vault.
“The conditions were good. It’s the first time I’ve started a competition without any stress.
“As I was a total outsider, I only had one goal: to interact with the audience. I was almost there.”
