Brighton are strongly interested in Inter Miami midfielder Diego Gomez, talkSPORT understands.
The Seagulls recently announced the arrival of Fabian Hurzeler as their new head coach following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi.
Ahead of his first season in charge, the south coast club have turned their attention towards the USA in order to strengthen the side.
Paraguay international Gomez is valued at £15million by Inter Miami and joined last summer at the same time as Lionel Messi.
He has scored four goals in 25 appearances for the club, with 19 of those coming alongside the Argentine legend in all competitions.
Gomez was part of the Inter Miami squad that won the Leagues Cup last August and has now attracted Premier League interest.
The 21-year-old is the latest midfielder to be linked with Brighton ahead of next season.
talkSPORT also understands the Seagulls retain interest in Leicester’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after a failed move in January.
Dewsbury-Hall is rated at £30million and was key to the Foxes’ Championship title winning campaign with 12 goals and 14 assists.
Brighton are contemplating a fresh bid for the 25-year-old, who has been at Leicester since the age of eight.
Hurzeler wants to keep fellow midfielder Pascal Gross at the club as Borussia Dortmund lead the race to sign him.
He is also keen for Deniz Undav to remain, although Stuttgart are eager to take up their £20million buy option on the German forward.
Brighton are set to welcome Ibrahim Osman as their first summer arrival amid his £16million move from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland.
Adam Lallana has already left the club and rejoined Southampton on a one-year deal.
