Boa is ready to embrace his next chapter after nearly eight years with WWE.
It was revealed last week that Boa was departing WWE in a round of NXT roster cuts. He joined the company in 2016 as one of seven Chinese recruits who were signed to developmental contracts after a tryout in Shanghai.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Boa said his time with WWE will officially come to an end on June 1. He expressed his gratitude for the time he spent with the promotion:
After an incredible 7-year journey, my time with WWE comes to a close on 6/1. Grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing people and coaches. As I move forward, I’m excited for new career opportunities and deeply appreciative of everyone who’s supported me through life’s ups and downs. Here’s to embracing the next chapter with resilience and optimism! #Gratitude #NewBeginnings
The last televised match Boa had for WWE took place on NXT Level Up in October 2023. His most prominent role on NXT television was as a member of Tian Sha, a faction that included Xia Li and Mei Ying (now known as Wendy Choo in NXT).
Li, who was signed in the same class of recruits as Boa, was released from WWE last month.
Boa’s real name is Yanbo Wang. He’s originally from Beijing.
