When the Grand National comes around you will have a wide range of free bets, welcome offers, and betting promotions to choose from.
Below I will cover some of the main Grand National promotions, and who on our top list provides each covered promotion.

You will be offered a wide range of sign-up and free bet offers like Copybet’s ‘Bet £10 get £50 in Free Bets’ to AK Bets’s unique Lucky 15 deal.
With the array of sign-up offers available now from our toplist, you will be sure to find one that will enhance your Grand National betting experience.
Extra each-way places
Given the 36 strong runners in the Grand National, extra each-way places are a big draw for bettors.
The Grand National is a race full of thrills and spills, but having extra places to play with when betting on the Grand National is a big plus to you the bettor.
You will find closer to the Grand National, the more extra each-way places promotions will be live. Expect to see this offer widely available throughout our top list, especially with the likes of Paddy Power, Betfred, Sky Bet, and more.
Faller Insurance
As we know the Grand National brings its own unique test of jumping with famous jumps like The Chair, Becher’s Brook, and The Canal Turn all to be faced in the search for Grand National glory. And with that, Fallers Insurance is a great promotion to use.
Fallers Insurance offers you lower odds from the main betting market, but in return, if your selection falls in the Grand National you will not lose your stake.
This offer is widely available from Betfair, BetVictor, Boylesports, and more.
Non-runner no bet (NRNB) promotion
One of the most popular ante-post bets for the Cheltenham Festival is now available on the Grand National.
This is a simple but effective promotion where you back any horse in the Grand National through the ante-post market and if your selected horse does not run in the Grand National, you will get all of your betting stake back in cash.
Not all bookmakers offer this, but Paddy Power, Bet365, Sporting Index, Boylesports, Sky Bet, and Betfred all offer this promotion through our top list.
Money back specials
Non-runner no bet would be classed as a money back special, but closer to the Grand National you will see some bookmakers offer money back specials on a rage of scenarios i.e. ‘money back as a free bet if your horse falls at the first’, ‘money back if you are beaten a head’, and more.
Be sure to keep an eye on our top list of bookmakers for their latest Grand National Money Back Specials.
How to use a Grand National free bet
Once you have chosen the Grand National free bet offer that suits your betting needs, using your it is straightforward.
When you have selected your horse for the Grand National and the selection is in your betting slip, you will commonly see a tab ‘use free bet’. Click on this button to add one of your qualifying free bets to your selection, and to place your free bet simply click the ‘place bet’ tab.
It’s important to remember that free bets normally have a 7-day period which you will need to use them. If you fail to use your free bets within the set time frame, then you will lose the use of your free bets.

Grand National favourites for 2024 – performance & odds
Now the one we have all been looking forward to, the Grand National betting tips.
Here I will go through the top 10 in the betting for the Grand National giving you my thoughts on how they have performed in the lead-up to the Grand National, and hopefully making your Grand National betting strategy that much easier.
Corach Rambler – Weight 11st 5lb – 9/2 with bet365
The defending champion started the season off with two below-par runs at Kelso and Haydock, but came back to life with a massive run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup finishing 13L behind Galopin Des Champs.
As I said, that was a massive run, but has he left his chances of winning back-to-back Grand Nationals on the Cheltenham Hill?
If he is none the worse for that, then there is every chance he can win back-to-back Grand Nationals, given the ease with which he won last season running.
Corach Rambler won the 2023 running off 146, and after his Gold Cup 3rd he is up to 162, but gets to run here off 159 as Grand National weights can not go up after publication making him theoretically 3lb well in.
All in all, Corach Rambler should put up a bold show to defend his crown.
🏇 Bet on Corach Rambler at 9/2 with bet365 to win the Grand National 🏇
I Am Maximus – Weight 11st 5lb – 9/1 with Betway
Quirky by nature, but last season’s Irish Grand National winner has endless talent when he wants to show it, and I Am Maximus has been on his best behavior this season.
Starting off the season, I Am Maximus won the Grade 1 Drinmore Novices Chase on the last day of his Novice status, and followed that up with two admirable 3rd and 4th behind the soon to be two time Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs.
His prep run took place in the Bobby Joe Chase at Fairyhouse where he was a 14L winner over his fellow Grand National hope Vanillier.
Now, the worry you will have with I Am Maximus is whether he is a Faiyhouse specialist. Since arriving at Willie Mullins all his wins have been at Fairyhouse, but if he translates his Fairyhouse form to the Grand National course I would be expecting a massive run from I Am Maximus.
🏇 Bet on I Am Maximus at 9/1 with Betway to win the Grand National 🏇
Vanillier – Weight 10st 11lb 10/1 with Sky Bet
A horse that it is near impossible to catch on a going day came to live over the Grand National fences last season. But is he one that you can lay all your trust onto?
For me, no. Yes, granted that his whole season has been planned on going one better then last season’s renewal, but there has been no semblance of a spark this season after being beaten a combined 123 lengths in four starts.
Coming into last season’s Grand National he finished 1/2 length 2nd to Kemboy in the BobbyJo Chase at Fairyhouse, but has been beaten 14 lengths by I Am Maximus this season around where he looked labored.
If he comes to life again at Aintree then he will have a good chance, but there are too many worries for me to like Vanillier’s chances at the price.
🏇 Bet on Vanillier at 10/1 to win the Grand National with Sky Bet 🏇
Kitty’s Light – Weight 10st 6lb – 14/1 with BetVictor
A former winner of the Boards National, Eider Chase, and pulling off the remarkable feat of winning the Scottish National and bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown within 7 days of each other, Kitty’s Light has earned his place here. But this just might be one step too far!
There will be no questions about his stamina, but just a small question about his class to win a race such as a Grand National. To me, I do not see Kitty’s Light winning, but when most are crying enough, he will be running on strong at the finish making him a big each way player.
🏇 Bet on Kitty’s Light to win the Grand National at 14/1 with BetVictor 🏇
Pandy Boy – Weight 10st 6lb – 14/1 with Betfred
His current weight gives him an each-way chance, but to me, Pandy Boy is no more than a good handicap chaser.
To win a Grand National you need to be more than just a good handicap chaser.
He ran a fair race in the Irish National to finish a 7¾ lengths 5th to I Am Maximus in the Irish Grand National, but has been beaten in lesser races off 138. If you are a backer of Panda Boy you are hoping that a few of the main players underperform, and that he excels over the National fences.
🏇 Bet on Pandy Boy to win the Grand National at 14/1 with Betfred 🏇
Mahler Mission – Weight 11st 4lb – 16/1 with Paddy Power
Arguably had the 2023 National Hunt Chase in the palm of his hands until taking a tumble 2 out at Cheltenham.
Having come on again this season with 2nd in a Listed chase at the Cheltenham November meeting, and took his form to a new level with a 2nd in the Coral Gold Cup where the stable was having a terrible time of it, and losing a front shoe didn’t help his cause, so you can mark up that performance.
He is the type who has more to give and is a dark horse going into this year’s Grand National.
🏇 Bet on Mahler Mission to win the Grand National at 16/1 with Paddy Power 🏇
Mr Incredible – Weight 10st 7lb – 16/1 with BoyleSports
It’s fair to say that Mr Incredible has been called a few names over the years given the abundant talent that he possesses. But when he wants to show that side of him it is harder than predicting the winning lotto numbers.
To his credit, he was running a good race until unseating at the Canal Turn second time around due to a slipped saddle.
Based on his close 2nd in the Midlands National on his only start of the season, there is no reason why the character that is Mr Incredible can not come on for that run and put up a big performance this year.
🏇 Bet on Mr Incredible to win the Grand National at 16/1 with BoyleSports 🏇
Meetingofthewaters – Weight 10st 7lb – 16/1 with bet365
After clear cut winner of the Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown, he then unseated rider at the first in the Dublin Racing Festival but was then all the rage for the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival where he looked to be coming with a big challenge only to look outpaced and then run on strongly again.
Still a novice and could still have a bit left up his sleeve, and can play a massive part here.
🏇 Bet on Meetingofthewaters to win the Grand National at 16/1 with bet365 🏇
Minella Indo – Weight 11st 5lb – 20/1 with bet365
The former Gold Cup hero comes in her with no prep run as the Cross Country Chase was abandoned due to an unraceable track at the Cheltenham Festival, but even with that, does he still have the spark that he once processed, but then again, will he need to be at that level to win a Grand National?
I for one think that age is against him, but as they say class is permanent. He showed this season that the fire is still burning bright with a win in a Grade 3 Chase at Punchestown, a 4th behind Gold Cup 2nd Gerri Colombe and then a huge run under a massive weight in the Cross Country Race at the Cheltenham December meeting.
If he gets into a rhythm and shows that the spark is still there, there is a chance that Minella Indo could pull off a rare Gold Cup, Grand National double.
🏇 Bet on Minella Indo to win the Grand National at 20/1 with bet365 🏇
Noble Yeats – Weight 11st 11lb – 20/1 with Paddy Power
Became the first ever 7 year old to win the Grand National in over eighty years back in 2022, but only managed 4th off 169 last year.
He has dropped 1lb this year and has had a hurdles campagne this season where he was 2nd at Limerick, beating Paisley Park in the Grade 2 Cleeve Hurdle on trails day, only to then go on and finish 7th in the Stayers Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
He will need a lot to go right for him to regain his crown, and if he was to do it, it would be one of the best performances in horse racing history. But do I see it happening given his current mark?
Unfortunately, I don’t even think Harry Cobden’s magic can work here.
🏇 Bet on Noble Yeats to win the Grand National at 20/1 with Paddy Power 🏇
