Lamine Yamal has become the youngest ever player to feature at a European Championship.
The teenager has enjoyed a strong breakthrough season at Barcelona by scoring seven goals and assisting another ten in 50 appearances.
Yamal became the youngest player and goalscorer for Spain when he netted on his senior debut against Georgia in September.
But he went one step further on Saturday when he started in their Euro 2024 opener against Croatia.
Aged 16 years, 11 months and two days, Yamal is the competition’s youngest ever player.
The record was previously held by Poland’s Kacper Kozlowski when he featured against Spain at Euro 2020 at 17 years, eight months and three days old.
Yamal has assisted at least two goals from the right wing in his previous three matches for Spain.
