France fans booed the Argentina national anthem and their players before winning their high-tempered Olympic quarter-final clash.
The match came weeks after members of Argentina’s Copa America winning squad were seen signing a racist and discriminatory song.
It references how many French players have African heritage and the video was met with widespread criticism.
The French Football Federation filed a complaint to FIFA, who then said they will launch a probe into the matter.
Argentina’s national anthem was booed before their opening men’s football match at the Paris Olympics, which they lost 2-1 to Morocco.

And the same happened again on Friday night at the Stade Matmut-Atlantique when they played the hosts France, who won 1-0 thanks to Jean-Philippe Mateta’s goal.
French fans were heard booing the opposition players as they made their way onto the pitch for the pre-match warmups.
The boos continued into the national anthems before kick-off, with France then getting off to an excellent start once play commenced.
Jean-Philippe Mateta headed in the only goal on five minutes from a corner taken by his former Crystal Palace teammate Michael Olise.
VAR ruled out a late second for France but they still claimed the win, with tensions boiling over at the full-time whistle.
Players and coaches from both sides could be seen clashing on the pitch whilst the home crowd celebrated their victory.
The scuffle appeared to calm down fairly quickly, but it appears as though it continued in the tunnel too.
France’s win has seen them maintain their 100 per cent record in the men’s tournament this summer having first topped Group A.
Thierry Henry’s side have scored eight goals across their four matches so far and are yet to concede once.
They will now face Egypt in the semi-finals and are arguably the firm favourites to go all the way on home soil.
Argentina, on the other hand, have exited a tournament that saw them involved in controversy from their opening match.
They scored what they thought was a precious equaliser late on in stoppage-time that sparked angry fans to storm the pitch.
Both teams were taken off the pitch as police were called into action and the match was suspended, with VAR ruling out the goal 92 minutes after it was scored.
The final three minutes of the match were then played in an empty stadium, with Morocco and Argentina both eventually qualifying out of Group B.
