The Green Bay Packers need wide receiver help, and there is one player who is reportedly on the trading block.
The Green Bay Packers are 3-4 on the season and on a three-game losing streak. After losing to both the New York Giants and Jets, they also dropped a game to the Taylor Heinicke-led Washington Commanders this past week. It is quite evident that they need help in the passing game, specifically at wide receiver, and getting one on the trade market ahead of the Nov. 1 deadline could be the way to go.
Jordan Schultz, NFL insider for theScore, reports that the Packers have been calling around the league for a wide receiver, specifically one on a rookie deal.
If they can not get a team to trade wide receiver on a rookie deal, there is another option.
Schultz also reports that teams have called the New England Patriots about wide receiver Nelson Agholor, who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Packers should consider adding Nelson Agholor at the trade deadline
Agholor had a breakout season with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2019, where he caught 48-of-84 targets for 896 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games. After this huge, lone season in Las Vegas, Agholor signed a two-year, $22 million deal with the Patriots.
In his first season with New England, Agholor logged 37 receptions for 437 yards and three touchdowns on 64 targets (15 games). This season, the Patriots passing game has been far from explosive, due in fact to Mac Jones not having the greatest of years on the football field.
The Packers need to make some additions to their wide receivers room. The team is already struggling, and they have receivers like Christian Watson and Randall Cobb injured. With quarterback Aaron Rodgers under contract for two more seasons after this, they need to make a move to help him out and get him to the Super Bowl for the second time in his career.
Whether it is Agholor or not, the Packers need to bring in wide receiver help.
