From practice to the private plane.
Angel Reese had the most glamorous 24 hours celebrating her 22nd birthday at the Met Gala in New York City on Monday.
The Chicago Sky rookie shared a TikTok video, which chronicled her whirlwind day at practice, before she got full glam on a private jet en route to fashion’s biggest night.
“Today is about to be the most eventful day, the best day ever,” Reese said. “So I’m going to practice and then I’m leaving practice and going to my plane — my first private flight, hopping on a jet because I’m going there and coming right back because I have a game tomorrow.”
“Priorities, make time for what you want to, period.”
The Sky host the Liberty in a preseason game Wednesday night.
Reese, a former NCAA champion with LSU, explained that she and her personal assistant went through a back door to get to her hotel room — which was decorated with balloons and featured desserts, including a green cake with the message: Happy Birthday Chi-Barbie” and custom “Met Gala” cookies.
Reese looked stunning in a custom dress by British label 16Arlington, which featured feathers, a plunging neckline and a sheer split skirt.
The Baltimore native was also gifted a box from Hermes, as seen in the video.
“Today was a success,” Reese said at the end of the video while carrying a bouquet of white roses to the plane. “I was able to play the game I love, but also live in the fashion world and do everything I’ve always dreamed about.”
Reese also spent time with Cardi B at the Met Gala less than a year after she starred alongside the rapper in the music video for her song with Latto, “Put It On Da Floor Again.”
Cardi B shared a video on her Instagram Story of Reese and referenced the music video.
“Say Happy Birthday to motherf–king Angel Reese b—h,” Cardi B said in the video. “… She representing America good … I been ballin so damn hard I coulda went to LSU, but I went to Chicago now.”
Reese explained how she “maximized [her] 24 hours” to attend the Met Gala and praised the Chicago coaching staff for allowing her to briefly step away from the team.
“Being able to set a schedule, I knew what I was going to do from the beginning of the day to the end,” Reese told reporters at practice on Tuesday. “I have an amazing team. My coaches for allowing me to go to something like that. Obviously I came to practice because that’s my priority here, and what has gotten me to where I am today, which is basketball. I have an amazing team outside of there.
“I came to practice. I had my schedule ready … and just being able to do both things. I’ve always loved fashion and I’ve always loved modeling.”
The Sky open the 2024 WNBA season against the Wings in Dallas May 15.
