Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has revealed Richarlison has picked up a calf injury which may end his season.
Spurs host Burnley on Saturday, live on talkSPORT 2, but will have to make do without the striker.
Brazil boss Dorival Junior confirmed on Friday that Richarlison is not in his squad for the Copa America due to suffering an injury.
And speaking ahead of the Burnley clash, Postecoglou said: “He picked up, in the last action of training yesterday, a calf injury.
“He’s gone for a scan so we’ll wait and see what the outcome is, but not available for today.”
Brennan Johnson, Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski have been the chosen attacking options for Spurs, with Dane Scarlett the substitute striker.
Richarlison has enjoyed much more success in front of goal this season for Spurs compared to his debut campaign.
He netted on just three occasions in 35 appearances but this time round, his tally sits at 12 in 31 matches, with 11 of those in the league.
The 27-year-old has recently suffered a knee issue though so form has not been as good as it was earlier in the season.
Richarlison came off the bench in their 4-2 defeat to Liverpool last weekend, scoring and assisting in Spurs’ fourth consecutive loss.
It’s a run that will need to end quick as they lose sight on a top four finish behind Aston Villa, who currently sit fourth.
Postecoglou’s side are seven points behind them although the gap will reduce to four with victory over Burnley.
They also have a game in hand over them against Manchester City but should Villa beat Liverpool on Monday, then Champions League qualification will be decided.
However, sealing Europa League football should they finish fifth or sixth would mark an improvement on last season’s final standing of eighth.
