Al Horford’s younger sister, Anna Horford, said that she has received “death and rape threats” over a tweet about LeBron James.
On Saturday, Anna deleted a tweet about James’ now-viral tantrum during the Lakers-Celtics game, when a foul wasn’t called on James’ missed game-winning layup. The contest went into overtime and the Celtics defeated the Lakers 125-121 — with refs later confirming that they missed the call.
“I tweeted & deleted ‘And the Oscar goes to’ about LeBron’s reaction & Lakers fans lost their damn minds,” Anna tweeted. “Like, that was one of my mildest tweets ever…”
When someone asked why she deleted the tweet, Anna replied: “People started sending too many threats.”
She went back and forth with critics that questioned her tweet.
“Why would you purposely taunt fans … and then get upset when you get the tweets YOU KNOW you would get? Stop acting slow,” one person wrote to her.
Anna replied: “I said nothing to warrant death & r*pe threats, you absolute psycho. I have no problem with rivalries & banter, the line was crossed. Stop with the bulls–t.”

Anna also tweeted calls to action to help her report threatening tweets.
On Monday, she thanked those for their support over the situation, and said that she “won’t tolerate people crossing the line” on Twitter.
“Thanks to everyone who has had my back the past few days,” Anna tweeted. “I’ve gotten an overwhelming amount of notifications & messages of kindness & I really appreciate it. Especially my Cs family. You’re all amazing. F–k the haters.”

In a separate tweet, Anna added: “And for the millionth time… I can handle the heat on here, I just won’t tolerate people crossing the line. I don’t understand how some people still don’t get that?? If I couldn’t handle Twitter, I would’ve left years ago. If my opinions bother you, block me. You won’t be missed!”
