Having been absent from AEW television for much of 2024, The Blade has provided up an update on his current status.
It had previously been reported that The Blade was ‘nursing a lower back injury‘ with the AEW star thanking Tony Khan for giving him ‘time off to heel’.
His last AEW appearance was in January 2024, teaming with Kip Sabian and The Butcher to take on Mark Briscoe & The Hardys.
Febuary 4 would be his last wrestling match to date, however, at A1 Watch The Throne 7 in Canada.
In an appearance on K&S WrestleFest, The Blade provided an update on his status, saying:
“I’m just on injury reserve right now but yes, still with the company [AEW].”
Asked if he would return before AEW All In on August 25, 2024, The Blade stated:
“I’m hoping so.. My back’s bad. It’s slowly but surely getting better but I’m hoping to be back in a couple months and I hope to be back by then…
“A lot of wear and tear… Might be [having surgery]. That’s what we’re in the midst of right now.”
Previously, The Blade had said that ‘physical therapy is helping’ him to stay on track.
He also revealed the extent of his back injuries, saying he has two discs and two ruptured discs.
