Barefoot Angel
This Dark Angel filly hasn’t been seen since July 2023 and could be even better as a four-year-old for trainer Richard Fahey.
Barefoot Angel made a great start as a two-year-old winning twice including the Group 3 Fillies’ Stakes at Ayr in September 2022 and then placed a great fourth of 16 at Redcar in listed company.
Took a winter break before being seen here in the Nell Gwyn Stakes (Group 3) last April and was quickly sent off for a wind op after coming over lengths off the winner Mammas Girl, but also stepping up to 7f for the first time.

She was then given another decent break, to reappear at York in July and that was encouraging considering it was her first run since having the wind op and may well have improved much more for that operation as she’s right down in the weights and could pose a threat fresh at gigantic odds.
Ambiente Friendly
A nice each-way chance for a horse that finished just off the pace from Ancient Wisdom here in October on soft ground.
He was a 16/1 shot but battled on quite well considering he went too keen early on and may well be a great each-way punt here too on just his third start with form behind that Godolphin runner and Chief Little Rock.
Progress is likely and lots to like about pedigree too, by Gleaneagles and out of Roxity who had one run and one win, over 1m2f.
Debut form has also worked out okay with Majed in second winning on his third attempt to beat Bold Style and then a close second to Dunstan.
Ottoman Fleet
Has been frustrating to follow on his outings abroad but has quality form in Britain and over course and distance winning this last year well to Poker Face.
That horse has gone on to go even better winning three since, while Ottoman Fleet has faced some hefty opposition in Group 2 and Group 1 contests at Belmont Park and Meydan, but should fare better back here with William Buick back on board too at a massive price considering.
Dance Sequence
Buick and Appleby pair up again on another Godolphin star, Dance Sequence who’s amongst the frontrunners for the 1000 Guineas here in May.
Cachet won the Nell Gwyn in April 2022 and then followed that up with a 1000 Guineas win under Buick and James Doyle respectively, which is no easy feat and it’s not seen that often.
Matrika is the only real threat, based on the market and form, so this should be in the bag for the Godolphin-owned horse who’s unbeaten.
Sail Away
Harry and Dan Skelton are flying this year with huge victories all over the big meetings and they could have a great chance with another Graded victory for this Silver Trophy Handicap Chase (Grade 2) with Sail Away.
The grey gelding has been just out of the places in each of his last four starts but it doesn’t tell the whole story.
Most notably, was his finish in fourth last time out, finishing last but only by ten lengths in Grade 1 company to Pic D’Orhy, L’Homme Presse and Ahoy Senor.
In fact, all his form this season has worked out incredibly well, mostly while giving weight away.
Placed a respectable fifth of seven at Newbury in December on his first start of the season, while carrying 16lb more than Kandoo Kid who’s since gone up 16lb in the weights.
He’s due a big run and this could be it against some similar horses who’ve also not had it their way this season.
