Dele Alli couldn’t help himself with a cheeky comment at the expense of Arsenal during his appearance on Monday Night Football.
The Everton midfielder, who has been out injured all season, was on punditry duty as his club were thrashed 6-0 by Chelsea.
During his appearance, the former Tottenham star also helped analyse all the action from the weekend and took great delight in speaking about Arsenal’s defeat at home to Aston Villa.
Their title hopes took a huge dent as they were beaten 2-0 at the Emirates, with Man City the biggest winners of the weekend as they went top of the Premier League.
Ollie Watkins sealed the result for Villa with a delightful chip over David Raya in the final minutes of the match.
Alli was asked by Jamie Carragher what the thought process would be in that position, and he said: “I think he knows it’s an attacking thinking player and it’s one-vs-one. He’s keeping it on his right foot.
“In his head, he’s waiting to get a bit closer and make the ‘keeper make his mind up for him. The ‘keeper goes half-and-half and in that position when he gets any bit of height, it’s an unbelievable finish from a great player.”
The ex-Spurs man could resist a cheeky comment too, adding: “I think I’ve chipped one at that end as well.”
In 2018, Alli scored a stunning goal at the Emirates in Tottenham’s 2-0 Carabao Cup quarter-final win.
He was played in on goal by Harry Kane and chipped it over Petr Cech with the outside of his boot.
Spurs fans loved his comment too, with one person on X writing: “What a flex.”
Another said: “Yesssss @dele_official rattle them.”
A third wrote: “Legend.”
