Cole Palmer is showing his class during Chelsea’s clash against Everton, firing a stunning hat-trick in the space of 16 first-half minutes.
The Chelsea star broke the deadlock with a magnificent solo goal on 13 minutes when he nutmegged the defender before curling a wonderful left-footed strike beyond Jordan Pickford.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Danny Murphy said: “This lad is some player. What a joy to watch.
“That could be up there for one of the goals of the season.”
Palmer could have made it two just moments later when he found himself on a fizzed cross-shot on the goal line, only to miss from point-blank range.
But you can never keep a good man down and just a few minutes later the 21-year-old did manage to get his second of the game.
Following good work from Noni Madueke, Nicolas Jackson hooked an effort towards goal that was parried away by Jordan Pickford, only for Palmer to power into the box and head home to make it 2-0.
And on 29 minutes it was 3-0 with Palmer getting his third as he intercepted Pickford’s stray pass before expertly lobbing the England stopper.
Those goals mean that the former Man City starlet has now scored 10 goals in his last 10 games for the club.
It also meant back-to-back hat-tricks for Palmer at Stamford Bridge following his three goals against Manchester United earlier this month.
Things then got even better for Chelsea before half-time when Jackson got his reward with a brilliant volleyed effort to make it 4-0 at the break.
