Los Ingobernables de Japon leader Tetsuya Naito has reacted to losing to Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title at NJPW Windy City Riot.
At NJPW Windy City Riot 2024, Jon Moxley defeated Tetsuya Naito to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.
Moxley’s win made him the first man to win the WWE World Championship, AEW World Championship and IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in history.
This match also marked the first time that a current AEW star has held the top prize in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Following his loss to Moxley, Tetsuya Naito spoke with Tokyo Sports and reflected on his loss at NJPW Windy City Riot.
On current AEW star Jon Moxley defeating him, Naito stated that he feels he should be the one to bring the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship back to NJPW after losing the gold.
However, the LIJ leader also appreciates the fact that he is now at the back of the line in the title scene following his loss.
Jon Moxley has already teased future title matches against both Ren Narita and Shota Umino immediately following his IWGP World Heavyweight Title win.
It remains to be seen when Moxley will make his first defense of his new title at the time of this writing.
Moxley also stated that he doesn’t care about any initials in wrestling following his win, which you can read at this link.
