Aaron Wan-Bissaka is set to leave Manchester United this summer – but the defender only has eyes for Inter Milan.
The 26-year-old turned down West Ham’s recent advances as his five-year stint at Old Trafford edges towards its climax.
talkSPORT reported last week how the Red Devils are seeking a £15million fee, with West Ham a potential destination.
But their focus has now shifted elsewhere, with The Athletic stating that the Hammers have turned their intention towards Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui.
Talks are said to be at an advanced stage, but United are also monitoring the Moroccan.
However, United must first offload Wan-Bissaka before entering into a tug-of-war with West Ham.
That means, United would need to convince Serie A champions Inter to move for Wan Bissaka either this summer or in 12 months time when his contract expires.
Wan-Bissaka favours a move to the San Siro which would be made feasible should Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries head to Old Trafford.
The idea of such a move has been discussed by senior figures at Old Trafford, but no advances have been made.
Dumfries finds himself in a similar position to Wan-Bissaka with just a year left to run on his existing deal.
The 28-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Inter after failed attempts to agree a new contract.
Dumfries could present United boss Erik ten Hag with more possibilities in attacking areas than Wan-Bissaka currently boasts.
The England U21 international moved to Old Trafford in 2019 from Crystal Place in a deal worth £50m.
While the defender has performed admirably at times, his limitations have been laid bare with Diego Dalot often preferred at right-back.
United remain focused on bolstering their squad ahead of the new season with two targets already secured.
The Red Devils have tied down French prodigy Leny Yoro and Dutch striker Joshua Zirkzee with a defensive midfielder still on Ten Hag’s wishlist.
United have held talks with Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte and are aware that the Uruguayan is keen to move to Old Trafford.
Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has also been sounded out as a possible addition following his exploits with Spain at Euro 2024.
