Hulk Hogan took to the stage at the Republican National Convention on Thursday in support of Donald Trump.
The WWE legend repeatedly made wrestling references whilst giving a speech backing Trump in his attempts to win a second term as United States president.
Hogan, real name Terry Gene Bollea, walked to the stage accompanied by his iconic ‘Real American’ theme tune, to hype up the crowd as an appetiser ahead of Trump’s first appearance since Saturday’s assassination attempt.
“With our leader up there, my hero, that gladiator, we’re gonna bring America back together,” Hogan said at the event in Milwaukee.
“What they did last week when they took a shot at my hero and they tried to kill the next president of the United States, enough was enough.
He continued: “Let Trump-a-mania run wild, brother. Let Trump-a-mania run again, let Trump-a-mania make America great again.
The crowd burst into a chorus, ‘USA, USA’, as Trump and Hogan together lapped up the appreciation.
Hogan went on to compare Trump and vice-president J.D. Vance to himself and former tag-team partner Macho Man Randy Savage, collectively known as The Mega Powers in the 1980s.
The 70-year-old sparked delight among those in attendance when he ripped off his shirt in trademark fashion, revealing a red one underneath displaying his support for Trump and Vance.
He told the room packed with Republican delegates that he felt he was in the presence of ‘real Americans’.
Hogan became embroiled in a race row in 2015 after video footage showed him using language of a racist nature.
Despite his grovelling apologies, Hogan’s WWE contract was subsequently terminated. Hogan has since appeared on the company’s programming but is used sparingly with many of WWE’s talent continuing to distance themselves from him.
