British prospect Jack Turner has wowed fans with his sixth consecutive first round KO win.
Turner competed on the undercard of Eddie Hearn’s latest Matchroom Boxing bill headlined by Jordan Gill and Zelfa Barrett at the AO Arena in Manchester.
The 22-year-old, who is currently competing at bantamweight, took on journeyman Abdul Kesi Ngaoma and he immediately looked a class above his stunned rival.
Turner dropped his opponent within 20 seconds of the opener, as he aimed to keep his impressive 100 per cent first round KO ratio up.
His rival climbed to his feet with the referee taking a look, but Turner pounced again and closed the show with another thunderous shot – dropping his rival to the canvas.
The fight was over within a minute, and fans gave rave reviews to the Merseyside star, with one writing: “More power than British gas, wow!”
A fan agreed: “Absolute animal, a seriously heavy hitter.”
Another remarked: “He looks a absolute killer, the raw power he possess reminds me of Edwin Valero.
“I don’t get excited by prospects often, but I am with this kid.”
This X user assessed Turner extremely positively, writing: “Future world champion.”
A viewer even commented: “This kid is one of the most special I have seen. Well done mate!”
A final comment read: “Concrete in them gloves!”
Turner could well be a seriously bright prospect for Matchroom kingpin Hearn, who has a stable littered with bright young talents.
The 22-year-old has now won all of his six fights by first round stoppage, a feat comparable to the early stages of Anthony Joshua’s glittering heavyweight career.
And he impressed once again with big hopes behind the Liverpool-based prospect, in a division that contains the likes of world champions Takuma Inoue and Junto Nakatani.
Also impressing on the card was Michael Gomez Jr who fought for the English title and stopped rugged competitor Kane Baker.
It was a real war between the pair but Gomez Jr, son of boxing star Michael Gomez, sent Baker on to his back twice in the sixth before the referee ended the contest.
