Jude Bellingham let his frustrations get the better of him as he booted a bucket following England’s Euro 2024 final defeat.
The England star looked distraught as the Three Lions suffered a 2-1 defeat to Spain in Berlin – a result that extends their 58-year wait for a major trophy.
As the final whistle blew, Bellingham made his way off the pitch and towards the technical area as he held in his emotions.
Reaching the bench, the midfielder kicked out at a water bucket, showing just how much the defeat meant to him.
After spending some time with his thoughts on the bench, Bellingham headed back onto the pitch where he consoled his teammates.
He did, however, get a word of consolation from one of his old teammates.
While Spain were off celebrating, Joselu broke away from their festivities to embrace Bellingham and comfort him following defeat.
The former Newcastle and Stoke striker had been playing for Real Madrid during Bellingham’s first season before completing a deal to join Qatari side Al-Gharafa SC this summer.
He then sat on the pitch once again looking gutted as he watched Spain pick up the trophy and celebrate their success.
Bellingham hasn’t been short of glory over the last 12 months, winning the Spanish Super Cup, LaLiga and the Champions League since completing his £88million move to Real Madrid.
But there’s no doubting that this defeat will weigh heavily on the 21-year-old’s shoulders and fuel him to guide England to glory as attention turns to the World Cup in 2026.
