Ukraine have become the first nation in European Championship side history not to progress from the group stages with four points.
Serhiy Rebrov’s side drew 0-0 with Belgium in their final Group E match, despite their best attempts to get a late winner.
Both sides, along with Slovakia and Romania, headed into their final group games on three points, with all to play for.
And it’s Ukraine who have finished fourth and won’t progress to the last 16, making unwanted history in the process.
No nation has ever failed to reached the knockout stages with four points to their name.
The tally is one that has seen Italy and the Netherlands progress in other groups during Euro 2024.
Even Demark and Slovenia have reached the last 16 on less points, with Ukraine’s stars left despondent at the final whistle.
Their tournament got off to the worst possible start when they were thumped 3-0 by Romania.
Ukraine were able to beat Slovakia 2-1 to keep their qualification hopes alive but the draw with Belgium has ended their chances.
The final standings see Romania top the group although their last 16 opponent will be confirmed after Group F’s final fixtures later, live on talkSPORT.
Belgium have finished second and will face France, with Slovakia coming third and also awaiting their next challenge.
Germany vs Denmark, France vs Belgium and Switzerland vs Italy are the only three confirmed last 16 fixtures so far.
Group F sees Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic and Georgia play the final fixtures before the knockout stages.
Once the two matches are finished will have a clear picture of how their sides could progress to the final next month.
