England 1-1 Denmark – Kick-off
No changes for either side at half time, and it’s the Danes who get us underway.
Pitch issues
Well, this pitch is seriously cutting up.
But Denmark are looking the more comfortable on it.
England have to do more or they are in danger of losing this game.
Pearce wants to see changes
Stuart Pearce feels England need to change something if they are to win this game.
However, he would like to see Phil Foden stay on.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “We’ve had nothing at all down the left side. Phil Foden has given us some of our best play so far, but it’s come through the middle.
“If you asked the Denmark defenders if they feel under threat, I think they’d say, ‘No’. None of the England forward line are looking to run in behind any more. We’ve got to be more ambitious and more aggressive going forward.
“The Danes lack pace, anything in behind they’ve got a big problem. Christian Eriksen’s tucked in on the left and is being asked to deal with Kyle Walker – massive mismatch… we’ve got nothing on the counter-attack because every time we get the ball on the turnover I’m seeing players being told to calm down and pass the ball back.
“Why is Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield? To play forward passes. But if there’s players directly in front of him and not making runs in behind, you’re killing his forte and the whole purpose of why he’s in the team.”
