Following his departure from the company, former AEW star Matt Hardy has refuted a fan’s claim he “used” Private Party.
Shortly after his arrival in All Elite Wrestling, Matt Hardy became aligned with Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen of Private Party.
Hardy became the mentor of the young duo during their run in the company, but all three weren’t able to accomplish a lot of accolades together.
In early 2024, Hardy’s AEW contract expired and he returned to TNA Wrestling where he brought back his “Broken” character.
On June 19, Matt Hardy took to social media to a fan’s claim that he “used” or didn’t enhance Private Party in AEW. He responded:
“I wasn’t in any control of the booking when I was with Private Party. I made the most outta every opportunity we ended up being booked in, whether it was good or bad. What I can tell you is that both Zay & Quen pitched for be their mentor, which I was happy to do. They’ll also tell you they learned more from me than anyone else while we were together. I love them & legit call them my kids. I want the absolute best for Zay & Quen, these asinine narratives that I “used them” are pure trash.”
Private Party are scheduled to be in action on the June 21 AEW Rampage before they move on to face Chris Jericho and Big Bill of The Learning Tree on the June 22 episode of Collision. Meanwhile, “Broken” Matt Hardy was recently joined by his brother Jeff Hardy in TNA Wrestling after his AEW contract expired.
Jeff Hardy recently addressed his plans following his AEW departure, which you can read here.
