Amidst his absence from All Elite Wrestling, injured AEW star Kota Ibushi has been announced for an “exhibition match” in GLEAT.
In January 2024, AEW star Kota Ibushi injured both of his ankles in a match against Naomichi Marufuji in Pro Wrestling NOAH.
The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion has since undergone surgery, which was expected to keep him out of action for the foreseeable future.
On June 20, Kota Ibushi was announced for a 5 minute exhibition match in GLEAT to celebrate his 20th wrestling anniversary.
It remains to be seen who will be Ibushi’s opponent at the time of this writing.
Ibushi last wrestled in All Elite Wrestling when he teamed with Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho and Paul Wight to defeat Brian Cage, Konosuke Takeshita, Powerhouse Hobbs and Kyle Fletcher in the “Like A Dragon” Street Fight on the November 15 episode of AEW Dynamite.
WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Kota Ibushi’s in-ring exhibition return when they become available.
