Tyson Fury is certainly enjoying his Oleksandr Usyk training camp.
The ‘Gypsy King’ has been training in Morecambe with coach SugarHill Steward, father John Fury and brother Tommy Fury as he prepares to face Usyk on May 18 in Saudi Arabia.
Fury has documented his camp so far on social media, and in typical fashion has pulled a hilarious gag as he looks to continue to entertain fans.
The WBC heavyweight world champion stood in a video on Instagram with nutritionist Greg Marriott, and asked his nominated food expert: “So, what is the best form of protein after the gym?”
Marriott replied ‘an egg’ before asking Fury to take his hat off and proceeding to crack the egg on his head.
Fury then hilariously ate the raw egg, before spitting some of it out on to the floor as the team behind the camera burst into laughter.
Drawing further laughter from behind the camera, nutritionist Marriott went on to eat the entire shell which even Fury then enjoyed.
The 35-year-old ended on a final message, adding: “But that’s what it is guys, eggs and the real stuff like the inside for your protein, Greg Marriott and Gypsy King out.”
Fans were quick to react, with one writing: “That is disgusting!”
Another shared a different view, adding: “How can people not like this guy? He’s hilarious.”
One fan joked: “About to say he got poisoning from raw egg… fight pushed back.”
One wrote: “That is proper weird but strangely funny to be fair.”
A final fan concluded: “I love how RAW Tysons posts are. Raw and real, never change.”
Boxers regularly eat eggs, both raw and cooked, as they lift levels of protein and help increase muscle mass and repair.
Famously, Sylvester Stallone ate raw egg in fictional boxing films Rocky, while playing fighter Rocky Balboa.
The ‘Gypsy King, despite having fun, has clearly taken his training seriously and has shown off a sensational shape.
He has even proven how motivated he is, showing off his fast hands in footage on the pads with his father John Fury.
The champion can make history by becoming the first undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis completed the feat in 1999.
A win over Usyk will cement his name as the leading fighter in the division, but he will likely need to beat him twice given an immediate rematch clause is present.
Should the British star win twice, he could set up a clash with Anthony Joshua who is waiting in the wings for a title shot.
But the undefeated Fury has insisted Joshua must wait patiently to earn the all-British encounter.
