This Saturday afternoon, the WWE returns to the UK for its third premium live event in the country in three years.
After stunning Wales with the first Clash at the Castle event in 2022, the company takes the show’s second outing North of the border to the OVO Hyrdo Arena in Glasgow in what has the potential to be one of the best PLEs of 2024.
In this WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 betting guide, I’m going to take a detailed look at each of the matches and share my thoughts on how they might play out.
Clash at the Castle Scotland odds
Clash at the Castle is another absolutely stacked card from the WWE, and I think there are some real match-of-the-year candidates on the show. Let’s take a look at who will have their hands raised at the end of the night.
WWE Women’s Championship: Bayley vs Piper Niven
I think It’s been absolutely brilliant to see Piper Niven get her chance to shine. The Scot is one of the most underappreciated workers in the WWE, and I have no doubt she will get a huge reception when she takes on Bayley in Glasgow.
However, I can’t see her winning the belt. The match is a token gesture for both Niven and the Scottish fans, and hopefully, she can use it to show the higher-ups in the WWE what she is capable of and become a more permanent fixture in the main event scene. Bayley is winning this one, and you can back her to do so at 1/8 with Unibet.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Triple Threat
This is the most predictable outcome of the night. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill are two of the WWE’s most popular stars right now, and they are not going to drop the titles to Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn or Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark. You can back Belair and Cargill to retain their titles at 1/10 with Unibet.
Intercontinental Championship: Sami Zayn vs. Chad Gable
Sami Zayn and Chad Gable has been one of the best stories in the WWE over the last few months, and it feels like now is the perfect time for the WWE to pull the trigger on Chad Gable.
Of course, rumours about his contract situation make the match even more interesting, and I suspect the WWE may have dangled the belt in front of the former American Alpha man to get him to put pen to paper.
The match should be an absolute barnstormer, with Gable and Zayn being two of the best workers in the WWE right now. I think Saturday is the perfect time to introduce the Creed Brothers as Gable’s new right-hand men. It also provides a great chance to align Alpha Academy with Zayn, especially after Otis came so close to turning on his mentor Monday night. I’m backing Chad Gable to get his first taste of singles gold in Glasgow at 2/5 with Sky Bet. If you want to back Sami Zayn to retain his title, he is available at 7/4.
Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. AJ Styles
Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles will clash for the second time in two months on a European show when they go head-to-head in Glasgow.
While the result of the match is obvious, both AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes deserve praise for the build. I really enjoyed AJ’s ‘retirement’ promo, and it has brought out a side to Cody that I think his character needed.
However, there is no way Cody’s story is being ended by AJ Styles in Glasgow, especially with the I Quit stipulation being added to the match. This gives Cody a chance to answer some criticisms over his character being too soft and positions him as a tough champion heading into what will no doubt be a hectic summer period. You can back Cody Rhodes to win at 1/10 with William Hill. If you want to back AJ Styles as the outsider, you can do so at 5/1.
World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
While I think Damien Priest’s run as World Heavyweight Champion has felt a little flat, I think he will have his hand raised in Glasgow on Sunday night. WWE has a huge chance to garner massive heat for CM Punk by having him cost Drew McIntyre in his home city. This would accelerate their feud significantly and set them up for a huge clash at Summerslam.
I don’t think a match between Punk and McIntyre needs the title involved, and given that Gunther is lying in wait for the winner of Sunday’s encounter, I think Priest will pick up the win. A Summerslam win for Gunther over Priest would also allow him to walk into Bash In Berlin with the title around his waist in September.
You can back Damien Priest to beat Drew McIntyre at 4/6 with William Hill. The odds on this are incredibly tight, with William Hill pricing McIntyre at 10/11.
