Molly-Mae Hague has timed in on Tommy Fury’s comical underarm throw-in during Sunday’s Soccer Aid match.
The undefeated professional boxer swapped his gloves for boots over the weekend to represent the Rest of the World XI in the charity football game at Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.
‘TNT’ looked nowhere near as comfortable on the pitch as he does in the ring and had his fair share of blunders during his second-half cameo.
At one point, Fury completely missed the ball after attempting to smash it up the pitch.
But by far his most embarrassing mistake came when he was tasked with performing a throw-in.
Rather than throwing the ball overhead, Fury rolled it underarm prompting World XI coaches Mauricio Pochettino and Robbie Keane to burst into hysterics in the dugout.
His fiancée Molly-Mae saw the funny side of it as well as she took to her Instagram story to write: “Iconcic x,” alongside a picture of Fury holding the ball.
In the end, England beat the World XI 6-3 but that wasn’t the big talking point of the game.
Instead, social media was flooded with reaction to Fury’s comical mishap.
One fan wrote: “Tommy Fury has just actually done an underarm throw-in. Absolutely mad that he doesn’t know the rules of football.”
Another quipped: “Tommy Fury takes a throw-in and goes for the underarm throw, someone tell him it’s not bowling.”
A third added: “I used to think Lee Mack was the worst player to grace the #SoccerAid pitch but now it’s Tommy Fury. Underarm throw-in, and kicks the grass funny to watch hope he stays on.”
Someone else tweeted: “Yeah that’s madness. He ain’t living that one down.”
Meanwhile, a fifth supporter posted: “Bros never played football before.”
Fury may have become a meme off the back of his Soccer Aid performance but at least it was all for a good cause.
The event raised over £15m for Children’s Investment Fund Foundation UNICEF with further donations able to be made here.
