Jared Cannonier’s upcoming bout against Nassourdine Imavov is the highlight of UFC on ESPN 57 tonight.
Cannonier is 12 years older than his opponent at 40, but has won his last two fights, including a decision win over Sean Strickland at UFC Fight Night 216.
He has won four of his last five fights and will prove to be a tricky customer for Imavov.
Imavov, who was born in Russia but is a French citizen, has been more active in recent years than Cannonier.
He was beaten by Strickland shortly after Cannonier faced him but saw off Roman Dolidze last time out.

Cannonier vs Imavov: What has been said?
Cannonier suffered an MCL injury at the end of 2023, but he’s fit and raring to go.
He said: “I’ve been continuing my strength and conditioning and working my striking and stuff like that.
“I’m still feeling sharp, I’m feeling stronger than ever.
“I’ve made a lot of improvements since my last fight, and even since the injury I’ve made more improvements.
“The injury occurred and I feel like when I came back, I’m a better fighter because I’ve been studying and still thinking about this thing.”
Imavov is looking to build some momentum by winning this fight as he eyes the UFC middleweight belt.
“It moves me very close to the belt and the best in the world, so I’m highly motivated by this fight,” he said.
“Of course, I’m planing to stay active. Waiting is not necessarily a good option. Sometimes you wait and nothing happens.
“I want to stay active and keep fighting, especially I would like to be on the UFC Paris fight card.”
