Sergio Perez failed to progress to Q2 in qualifying for the 2024 F1 Canadian Grand Prix, in what was a frenetic session.
Perez found himself in the bottom five as he started his final hot lap, which was provisionally only good enough for 13th.
Multiple drivers below him – including Max Verstappen – found more time in the closing seconds of Q1, which dropped Perez to 16th.
The Mexican driver was visibly angry at his Q1 exit and threw his hands outside his cockpit on his cooldown lap.
His latest qualifying nightmare comes just a handful of days after the announcement that he has been retained by Red Bull for 2025 and 2026.
