This season’s list of released Premier League players has been confirmed and plenty of big-name stars are moving on.
Tottenham confirmed the departure of long-serving defender Eric Dier on Wednesday, with the defender set to join Bayern Munich permanently this summer.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have let Thiago Silva rejoin Brazilian club Fluminense following the end of his deal.
With many top clubs conscious of staying within the Premier League’s spending laws, decent free agents could be like gold dust this transfer window.
Leicester face the threat of starting the season with a points deduction, whilst Everton and Nottingham Forest were also docked points this campaign for breaking Profit and Sustainability rules.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have been charged with breaking FFP rules around 100 times from 2009 until 2018.
There isn’t a shortage of stars available for nothing this summer – so much so they could form an XI that wouldn’t look out of place in the Premier League.
So which 11 players would form this summer’s ultimate free agent starting line-up? talkSPORT has taken a look…
GOALKEEPER AND DEFENCE
Newcastle recently released goalkeeper Loris Karius following his two appearances for the club.
The ex-Liverpool glovesman was hailed for his performance in the Carabao Cup final last term, which Newcastle lost 2-0 to Manchester United, and is still a great option in goal.
Arsenal’s full-back Cedric Soares will be free this summer, along with Man United defender Raphael Varane, Liverpool’s Champions League winner Joel Matip and West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna, who can fit in at left back.
MIDFIELD
Liverpool also let go of Thiago, who can play in a more advanced position in this free agent XI.
Everton’s Andre Gomes is also available and would do well alongside soon to be former Nottingham Forest midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate to make up the midfield trio.
An honourable mention goes to fellow midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who has left Arsenal after eight years at the Emirates Stadium.
ATTACK
Newcastle are also waving goodbye to long-serving right winger Matt Ritchie, who would be a great option on the right for this XI.
On the other flank will be Ryan Sessegnon, who was released by Tottenham on Wednesday following an injury-hit campaign.
Up front will be now former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial, who will be looking to reignite his career next season.
FREE AGENT XI: Karius; Cedric, Matip, Varane, Ogbonna; Gomes, Thiago, Kouyate; Ritchie, Martial, Sessegnon
