Ross Barkley is set for another crack at the Premier League having struck a deal to join Aston Villa, talkSPORT understands.
Villa have agreed a £5million deal to sign the Luton midfielder with a move expected to go through shortly.
Barkley joined Luton last summer on a two-year deal following their promotion to the Premier League in a bid to reignite his career.
After a steady start, Barkley went on to make 37 appearances for the Hatters, scoring five goals and providing six assists.
Among those were goals against Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea and Man City in performances that showed exactly what he’s capable of in the top tier.
Despite impressing, Barkley’s efforts weren’t enough to keep Luton in the Premier League as they prepare for life back in the EFL.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are gearing up for Champions League football.
Barkley has played for Villa already in his career, joining the club on loan while at Chelsea during the 2020/21 campaign.
In that season he scored three times in 24 appearances.
Joining Chelsea from Everton in January 2018, Barkley made just 100 appearances for the Blues before leaving by mutual consent in the summer of 2022.
After a year with French side Nice, he joined Luton but is now set for another crack at the Premier League with this fresh opportunity.
