Gareth Southgate will be on the touchline once again this summer as he takes England to Germany for Euro 2024.
The Three Lions boss led the country to the final of Euro 2020 four years ago and he will be aiming to one step further this time around.
A quarter-final elimination in the World Cup followed that runners-up finish with Southgate still waiting for a major success.
He has been in charge for eight years now, but what was his career like before becoming England boss?
Who did Southgate play for?
Southgate began his playing career in 1988 at Crystal Palace where he worked his way through the youth ranks to claim a first-team spot.
The Three Lions manager, who played as a centre-back for the majority of his career, became captain of the Eagles in 1993 before achieving promotion to the Premier League in the same year.
Two years later, he joined Aston Villa for £2.5million and he ended up making 191 appearances for the club.
He then moved on to Middlesbrough in 2001 and ended his playing career while at the club after staying for six years and making over 150 appearances.
Throughout his club career, he collected 57 caps for England, scoring twice in that time and appearing at two World Cups.
What teams has Southgate managed?
Southgate quickly moved into management after ending his playing days, taking charge of Middlesbrough after retiring at the club in 2006.
However, his time as Boro boss did not go as he would have wanted with the club being relegated from the Premier League during his tenure.
The 52-year-old had his side in a good position to bounce back to the top flight at the first attempt but he was sacked in controversial fashion in 2009.
After a few years away from management, Southgate took the dive into an international role, becoming the England under-21s manager.
This then led to him being in prime position to step in and replace Sam Allardyce who was forced to resign after just one game in charge.
He would then take up a temporary role before being appointed on a permanent basis in 2016.
Southgate has been England’s manager ever since, leading his country into three major tournaments with this summer in Germany his fourth.
