Not much can perturb Luke Littler, the cold-handed darts prodigy who regularly beats world champions with the flick of a wrist.
But when he met a few WWE superstars in the United States, it was noticeable how starstruck the 17-year-old was.
Ahead of the US Darts Masters this week, Littler was out exploring America and was shown around WWE’s headquarters by British wrestling legend William Regal, as well as Brit tag team Pretty Deadly.
Taking the tour alongside fellow darts star Peter Wright, Littler then looked shocked after a surprise message.
Regal told the teenager to take a look at the big screen where a message from WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes played out.
Rhodes congratulated Littler on his incredible progress over the last six months, from his shock start reaching the PDC World Championship final to winning the Premier League in his first year in the competition.
As Littler looked up, a message from Rhodes played: “Luke ‘The Nuke’ Littler, this is the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, Undisputed WWE Champion.
“I heard you were going to WWE HQ, getting a little tour-ski. I love it.
“I heard you are a fan of WWE. I love that even more. My friend, we are fans of yours.
“I am a fan of the darts game, simply because of the show Deep Space Nine. Bashir, O’Brien.
“I know that is a deep cut, maybe you’ve never even seen the show but it gave me an appreciated of darts.
“Clearly have an appreciated of you as an athlete, as a performer, as a competitor.
“My man, you are a champion’s champion from one champion to another. Luke, my friend, see you down the road.”
A shellshocked Littler could only reply: “I did not expect that!”
He let out a little chuckle and looked beaming stood alongside Regal and Wright, later using Rhodes’ entrance theme ‘Kingdom’ at the US Darts Masters on Friday night.
It was a change from his usual theme song ‘Greenlight’ by Pitbull, which was inspired by him attending Wrestlemania 33 in 2017 as an 11-year-old.
And ‘The Nuke’ destroyed his opponent Matt Campbell 6-0 after just 10 minutes at the oche to launch himself into the quarter-finals where he will face Jeff Smith.
