Following recent changes with a NXT stable, a new report has revealed a potential WWE TV role for former AEW star William Regal.
On the May 28 edition of WWE NXT, a backstage segment took place with the No Quarter Catch Crew working out and discussing their rivalry with the D’Angelo Family.
After losing the NXT Heritage Cup to Tony D’Angelo, Charlie Dempsey expressed to his group that they needed some structure and a chain of command similar to their rivals.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that there have been pitches dating back months for former AEW star and NXT General Manager William Regal to have a mentor role for the stable.
On the NXT Roadback special, Regal made his return to the brand to confront his son Charlie Dempsey following his Heritage Cup victory.
During his appearance, Regal let the NQCC know how much the Heritage Cup meant to him due to its British wrestling roots. However, Dempsey stated that he would defend the Cup better than his father ever could, which Regal said he would be watching.
It remains to be seen if and when Regal may join the No Quarter Catch Crew in a mentor role at the time of this writing.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on William Regal’s potential WWE TV role when they become available.
