England’s Group C rivals Slovenia and Denmark will get their Euro 2024 campaigns underway against each other.
The Three Lions are heavy favourites to beat Serbia in their opening game which can open the door for one of these two teams to seize the initiative.
Slovenia are making their first appearance at the Euros since 2000 and look like a well-balanced outfit, with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak between the sticks and highly rated Benjamin Sesko leading the attack.
Denmark, meanwhile, suffered semi-final heartbreak against England at Euro 2020 and will be out for revenge when they meet in matchday two.
Danish manager Kasper Hjulmand has assembled a squad packed with Premier League talent and could be this year’s dark horses.

Slovenia vs Denmark: Players to watch
Benjamin Sesko
The 21-year-old’s form will be watched with interest from Premier League clubs as he leads the line for Slovenia this summer.
Sesko, who scored five goals in nine matches during qualifying, looks primed for a big-money move after his breakthrough at RB Leipzig.
talkSPORT revealed in May that Sesko has emerged as a striker option for Arsenal with Eddie Nketiah facing an uncertain future.
The forward – who is also a long-time target of Manchester United -bagged 14 goals in the Bundesliga this season for Leipzig.
Rasmus Hojlund
United’s long-standing interest in Sesko surely ended when they completed their £72million deal for Hojlund last summer.
The 21-year-old had a mixed first year in England having arrived already injured before suffering a drought in front of goal.
He failed to score in his first 14 Premier League games before a flurry of goals at the start of 2024 was ended by more fitness issues.
Hojlund did manage to sign off his campaign with an FA Cup trophy and now the stage is set for him to be the main man for Denmark.
Slovenia vs Denmark: What has been said?
Question marks over Eriksen’s spot in Denmark’s squad have arisen having warmed the bench for most of Man United’s season.
However, his teammate Hojlund remains a huge fan of what the veteran midfielder can bring and labelled him a ‘class player’.
He told TV2 in March: “I myself have sat on the bench for Copenhagen, so I know what that means.
“But he holds his head high and he is a class player. There is absolutely no doubt about that.
“There is no concern at all from me about it. Of course, you want to play football And I’m sure he does too.
“[But] he trains well and is still very positive and very helpful, so it’s not a big deal. He is a real professional.”
