Did Tommy Fleetwood just pull off the greatest trick shot in the history of golf? The answer is no.
The Ryder Cup hero recently won the DP World Tour’s Dubai Invitational, holding off Rory McIlroy, but this would have been more impressive than every win put together.
In a video set above Dubai Creek, Fleetwood is filmed in a cargo ship 30,000ft in the air.
With an iron in hand, the Englishman is set the impossible task of making a hole-in-one on the course below.
After striking the ball, a skydiver chases it through the air and watches as it lands in the perfect spot on the green before trickling into the hole.
The DP World Tour are known for their innovative and creative approach to social media, posting some of the best viral content in sport.
But there were not fooling anybody with this one.
Besides highlighting the various laws of physics that made Fleetwood’s trick shot literally impossible, fans quickly pointed out multiple signs of CGI on social media.
One said: “I wish this was real.”
Another wrote: “I know it’s fake but this was still pretty cool.”
Fleetwood returns to action alongside Tiger Woods and McIlroy at the Genesis Invitation on Thursday.
