An update has emerged on the possibility of AEW introducing a new championship, with Tony Khan confirming that he’s thought about adding a specific new title.
While AEW has introduced numerous championships during its five-year run, Tony Khan has revealed that he has considered adding a unique title to the mix.
During the Double or Nothing media scrum, Khan confirmed that he’s thought about introducing an AEW Mixed Tag Team Championship, which would have members of the men’s and women’s rosters teaming up.
Khan noted he’s interested in adding these titles to the company in the future, believing that this addition would set AEW apart.
The AEW women’s division currently competes for two championships, the AEW Women’s World Title, and the TBS Championship.
Mercedes Mone notably won the TBS Title from Willow Nightingale in her AEW in-ring debut at Double or Nothing.
The AEW International Championship also changed hands at this show, with Will Ospreay defeating Roderick Strong for the gold.
