DJ Khaled reportedly turned up to the latest edition of ‘The Match’ thinking he was one of the players.
The PGA Tour’s Rory McIlroy and Max Homa competed alongside the LPGA Tour’s Lexi Thompson and Rose Zhang in an exhibition on Monday night.
The four golfing superstars took part in a 12-hole skins games for charity, which was ultimately won by McIlroy, with a number of fun quirks along the way.
Music artist and obsessed golfer DJ Khaled was there to offer entertainment in the commentary booth and compete in a par-three competition with NBA legend Charles Barkley.
However, according to the No Laying Up podcast, DJ Khaled thought he was destined for bigger things under the floodlights in Florida.
They reported: “Apparently DJ Khaled showed up and thought he was actually PLAYING in The Match tonight. Like the actual match and not just the par 3 thing. (I wish I was joking but I am not.)”

The ‘All I Do Is Win’ hitmaker did, at least, beat Barkley in the par-three challenge, describing it as the ‘easiest game I’ve ever played’.
Having missed out on his chance to do battle with McIlroy, DJ Khaled fired a challenge to the Northern Irishman during the broadcast.
He said: “Yo Rory, when me and you going toe-for-toe on the golf course?
“That’s right… when me and you going to be on the golf course to play 18 together… 9… let’s play 9… let’s play 9… just for fun and for me to be around greatness so I can perfect my game.
“When can I have the opportunity to play with you?”
McIlroy, who is a big DJ Khaled fan, duly accepted the offer.
The world No.2 responded: “I like that you went from 18 to 9 nine there, to start off.
“Anytime, anytime you want to come up here to Palm Beach, I’ll drive down to Miami. We’ll play. Yeah, I’d love that.”
McIlroy later continued: “I knew he was obviously going to be involved tonight so I had a DJ Khaled playlist going on the course today.”
