Rap superstar Drake has put a mammoth bet on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk tonight.
It has become something of a tradition for Drake to lay down big-money wagers on top sporting events and showcase his potential winners on social media.
However, the Toronto musician also infamously has a habit of picking the loser when it comes to his gambles, coining the ‘Drake curse’ trend.
Fury will be determined to not become the latest to suffer such a fate in his historic undisputed heavyweight world title showdown with Usyk this evening.
Drake has such faith in ‘The Gypsy King’ that he has put down $565,000 on his victory and stands to double his cash to a cool $1million.
And fans have been quick to congratulate Usyk amid fears the ‘curse’ will strike again.
One boxing fan said: “Fury is 100% losing then, the drake curse activated.”
Another said: “The Drake curse is strong… Fury’s in big trouble.”
And a third posted: “Usyk for the win then.”
Drake has previously bet on Jake Paul to beat Tommy Fury and Francis Ngannou to see off Anthony Joshua, both of which did not play out as he had hoped.
However, Fury won’t care about Drake’s wager and has vowed to knock out Usyk and become the first unified heavyweight world champion in 25 years.
After yesterday’s weigh-in, a fired-up Fury said: “I’m going to knock him right out.
“I’m coming for his heart. He’s getting it tomorrow, spark out. They [his team] can all get it if they want it.
He added: “I’m ready. I’ve got nothing to say. I’m ready for a good fight. If it’s tough or easy. Either way I’ll be ready.”
Fury weighed in at his lightest in over four years at 18st 7lb (262lb) while Usyk tipped the scales at a career-heavy 16st (224lb).
The stage is now set for the two great unbeaten stars to meet under the lights at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia tonight.
