USPGA Championship betting preview
Golf fans get a major a month from April’s US Masters to July’s Open Championship and this week’s it’s time for the USPGA Championship at Valhalla in Kentucky.
A fascinating edition awaits with so many questions to ponder.
Will World No.1 Scottie Scheffler be fully focused after the birth of his first child last week?
On the same course, Valhalla, where Rory MccIlroy won the 2014 USPGA, will he finally end his 10-year wait for a fifth major?

Or will the top two in the betting be blown away again by tournament specialist Brooks Koepka?
The American has won this event in three of the last six years and a fourth title would match Tiger Woods’ tally of four USPGAs.
Numerous other top players will be bidding to get their hands on the giant Wanamaker trophy and they include England’s Tommy Fleetwood, a third-place finisher at Augusta last month.
McIlroy and Fleetwood will have to defy recent history though as the last eight USPGAs have been won by home American players.
Valhalla was designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus and also hosted the USA’s convincing 16.5-11.5 victory over Europe in the 2008 Ryder Cup.

🏌️♂️ Rory McIlroy can end majors drought
This column struck the jackpot by picking Rory McIlroy at 15/2 to land last week’s Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow and it could pay to shove a chunk of those winning chips back on the Northern Irishman here.
Rory produced a brilliant Sunday burst to win by five shots at Quail Hollow and that was his second straight victory after landing the Zurich Classic of New Orleans pairs event in the company of fellow Irishman Shane Lowry.
McIlroy thrives on confidence and it really couldn’t be higher as he returns to Valhalla, the scene of his one-shot win over Phil Mickelson in the 2014 USPGA.
Looking at his stats from last week, Roy ranked 1st for Driving Distance, 1st for Strokes Gained Off The Tee, 1st for Tee To Green, 9th Around The Green and 8th in Putting.
All the elements look in place for him to end his unfathomable 10-year drought at this level so take McIlroy for the win at 13/2 with Spreadex.

🏌️♂️ Tommy Fleetwood an each-way must
Tommy Fleetwood may be a frustrating character to follow for those who bet win only.
But each-way backers get plenty of returns from the Englishman in major championships.
Fleetwood has four top five finishes in the last eight majors, that run including tied fifth in this event in 2022 and tied third in last month’s US Masters.
He warmed up for Valhalla with 13th at the Wells Fargo on Sunday so looks a cracking each-way bet at 40/1 (1/5 the odds first 7) with Spreadex.

🏌️♂️ Taylor Pendrith for Top 20
Further down the betting, I like the look of in-form Taylor Pendrith at 9/2 with bet365 to make the top 20.
The big-hitting Canadian should like this course and arrives at Valhalla in great nick after a win at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson a fortnight ago followed by another top 10 last week.
He’s finished 23rd and 29th in two of his four majors and can go a little higher here to secure a first top 20.
⛳ Bet on Taylor Pendrith to crack the top 20 at 9/2 with bet365 ⛳
