⚡Quick Real Madrid vs Alaves betting tips
Real Madrid CF vs Deportivo Alaves predictions
A few days on from his side’s Champions League semi-final victory over Bayern Munich, Carlo Ancelotti shuffled his pack for Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Granada.
The experienced Italian manager made 10 changes in all, with Antonio Rudiger the only player to start both matches.
In came Luka Modric, Brahim Diaz, Eduardo Camavinga and semi-final hero Joselu, who notched the match-winning brace against Bayern, among other outfielders.
Also returning was Thibaut Courtois, who has been out of action for the entire campaign after suffering a serious knee injury last summer.
Ancelotti must now decide whether he sticks with stand-in shot-stopper Andriy Lunin or goes with Courtois for the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on June 2.
Despite making so many changes for the trip to Granada, Madrid barely skipped a beat. Goals from fransisco Garcia, Arda Guler and Diaz (two) gave the champions a thumping 4-0 win.
Their task was helped by the fact Granada’s relegation was confirmed shortly before kick-off, but the ease with which Madrid’s second-string XI dismantled their opponents was nonetheless impressive.
The Blancos have strolled to the La Liga title this term and their strength in depth has been a massive part of that.
It is easy to forget that injuries have forced Madrid to play several players out of position at times this season – think Camavinga at left-back and Aurelien Tchouameni at centre-half. The likes of Joselu and Diaz have played vital roles even though they have rarely been first-choice picks.
With three games left Madrid can still reach 99 points, which would be their second-highest tally of all time (Jose Mourinho’s side got to 100 in 2011/12).
It goes without saying that the Champions League is the priority from here, but Madrid are showing no signs of slowing down domestically.
Real Madrid vs Alaves betting tips
Real Madrid will contest their penultimate home game of the La Liga campaign against Alaves this week.
Real Madrid/Real Madrid half-time/full-time – 10/11 (bet365)
Alaves are 48 points behind Real Madrid ahead of their meeting in the midweek round of games, but they too have had a very successful season in Spain’s top tier.
Luis Garcia led the club to promotion via the Segunda Division play-offs last time out, so survival was the primary objective heading into the current campaign.
Alaves have achieved their goal without breaking sweat. They may have been hovering above the relegation zone at the midway point of the season, but Alaves have never really looked in danger of demotion.

Indeed, if we only consider La Liga results since the turn of the year, Garcia’s team would be seventh in the standings.
They head to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu having taken 10 points from the last 12 available, but we still expect Madrid to emerge triumphant in this one.
The Blancos boast an exceptional home record and Ancelotti is likely to recall many of his big guns for Tuesday’s contest. Alaves, like most visitors to the Bernabeu, will surely leave empty-handed.

Real Madrid to keep a clean sheet – 10/11 (bet365)
Alaves can still finish in the top half of the table, something they have not done since 2016/17, but it will be tough for them to get anything at the Bernabeu.
Even scoring a goal could be difficult, especially if Madrid line up with Rudiger and Eder Militao at centre-back ahead of Courtois in goal, just as they did against Granada at the weekend.
Madrid have now kept 19 clean sheets in 35 La Liga games this term, which means more than half of their opponents have failed to score against Ancelotti’s side.
Ten of those shut-outs have come at home, with no other team in the division having reached double figures at the time of writing.
Alaves have had some success in front of goal of late, but they have still drawn a blank in 14 encounters in 2023/24.

Vinicius Junior to score any time – 13/10 (bet365)
Kylian Mbappe is on his way to Real Madrid but it is not yet clear how exactly he will fit into this team next season.
This season Ancelotti has used a twin-striker system with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo as split forwards, and Jude Bellingham just in behind.
Mbappe could replace Rodrygo in that line-up, but both he and Vinicius prefer to play in the left-sided berth. It is certainly something for Ancelotti to ponder.
It will not be easy to shift Vinicius from his preferred position. The Brazil international is enjoying another magnificent season at club level, having scored 18 goals and provided nine assists across La Liga and the Champions League.
Vinicius has found the back of the net 21 times in all competitions and he will be keen to set a new personal best of 24 goals in a season. The 23-year-old can take a step closer to his target against Alaves.
