Sheamus wasn’t sure if he’d ever get back in the ring.
The 46-year-old wrestled his first match in nearly eight months on Monday’s Raw, defeating Ivar in singles competition. He’d been out of action since August with what Dave Meltzer referred to as a “really bad shoulder injury.”
On Tuesday, Sheamus posted to social media and revealed that he thought his career might be over.
Sheamus wrote:
The road back to the ring is slow, rough and unimaginally painful. 2 months ago i thought i was hanging up my boots for good but a lot of doctors, trainers and physios helped get me cleared to do what i love.. fight.
Sheamus was wearing new gear for his return on Monday. He posted to X after the match to thank Venom, the exclusive apparel sponsor of the UFC, for making his new trunks. He wrote, “Thank you @venum for the 1st ever custom WWE branded ring gear… i wear the WWE brand with pride, many more should too..”
