Knicks fans have spooked 76ers ownership so much that it is purchasing tickets on its own to avoid a repeat of Game 4.
At least that was what Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin said on X — that he and the 76ers owners have bought over 2,000 tickets for Game 6 that will be given to fans of the home team.
“Josh Harris, David Blitzer, @david_adelman and I just bought more than 2,000 tix for Sixers Game 6 – we absolutely CANNOT let Knicks fans take over our arena again!!!” Rubin, a one-time minority owner of the 76ers, wrote.
“Giving them to first responders, health care professionals and other local Philadelphia-based organizations once we know they’re legit Sixers fans and not imposters!! Let’s go Sixers – we can do this!!”
The Knicks nearly ended the opening-round series on Tuesday at the Garden, but blew a six-point lead in the final 25.1 seconds of regulation and lost in overtime.
Tyrese Maxey scored 46 points in the classic playoff contest including seven in the final 25.1 seconds of the fourth quarter, extending the series to a sixth game.
In the Knicks’ Game 4 win on Sunday, fans of the orange and blue took over the arena, upsetting superstar center Joel Embiid.

After the victory, Knicks fans celebrated the win inside and outside of Well Fargo Center, busting out pro-Knicks chants and even draped a Knicks jersey over the statue of Wilt Chamberlain.
“Disappointed. I love our fans. I think it’s unfortunate – and I’m not calling them out – but it is disappointing,” Embiid said at the time. “Obviously you got a lot of Knicks fans, they’re down the road. I’ve never seen it, and I’ve been here for 10 years. Yeah, it kind of pisses me off, especially because Philly is considered a sports town. They’ve always shown up. I don’t think that should happen. Yeah, it’s not OK.”
Rubin and 76ers ownership seem determined to not let that recent history repeat itself Thursday night.
